On the 16th May 2009 (Saturday), Kuching Open Source Community (KOSC) has organized an informal launching session for Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 at Starbucks @ The Spring, Kuching. The launching session was attended by more than 10 people consisting of educators and Linux enthutiasts.
The launching session started at 8pm and ended around 10.30pm where we all gathered and started by getting to know each other. After we all introduced ourselves and chit-chatting for a whlie, we distribute out the SUSE pack sponsored by Novell Malaysia. We also perform InstallFest and one of the attendee showcasing his SUSE Linux 11 on his laptop with some of the Compiz feature turned on.
Attendees: Albert Lai, Tan Tang Lung, Yong Ted Yun, Irene Kho, Donald P. Kong, Yus Razina, Irwan Marzuki, Lee Seldon and wife, Jeff Webb with daughter, Colin McAllister, Wan Abdul Malikh, and Nicholas Ng.

it was a very interesting meet-up especially since many new faces came.
some seemed to have tried Linux at some time previously but were not aware how much better the Linux Desktop has now become. hopefully, we will see them at our future meet-ups and they will bring more new friends along as well.
